Our Pastors

Paul & LynneWe feel so privileged and blessed to partner with such amazing people here at Kingborough Life Church, a church located in the beautiful Kingborough region, just 10 minutes south of Hobart in Tasmania, Australia.

Our prayer is that you would find where you belong, strengthen what you believe, and fulfil your God given dreams and potential as you experience the life-giving and life changing power of God in your life.

We’d love to see you at church, and if you’re new, we especially invite you to our next “Welcome to Church Lunch” to give you the opportunity to meet us personally, along with some of our team. Here’s to a wonderful future ahead together.

About Us

As part of the Australian Christian Churches, ACC LogoKingborough Life Church has a passion to effectively impact its region and beyond with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The church runs multiple ministries, meeting in its own fully equipped building, with auditorium, cafe, youth, kids, life care and administration facilities.

Having been involved in full time ministry since 1985, Paul and Lynne were welcomed as senior pastors of KLC in March 2014. Throughout their ministry life as Senior Pastors, they have developed a track record of respect and fruitful ministry experience, and are blessed with a wonderful family – four generations all active in church life.

Having carried leadership responsibilities for many years within our ACC movement, Paul is also currently a member of the Tasmanian State Executive.

Together with the great team at Kingborough Life Church, Paul and Lynne have a strong desire to build a dynamic life-giving, life changing church that influences its region and beyond with the message of Jesus Christ.

The Church We See .. life-giving, life changing!

Here at Kingborough Life Church, our vision is to build a life-giving, life changing church for our region and beyond that helps people find and fulfil their God given purpose in life.

Simply put, we see a Church..

*that’s life-giving, life changing, relevant and real, one that loves God, loves people and loves life.

*filled with promise, led by the Holy Spirit, strong in faith and secure in God’s Word.

*where new people are reached, souls are saved, all generations are discipled and the next generation is released.

*with passionate praise and worship that attracts the presence of God.

*that’s a family for the lonely, a place of healing for the hurting and restoration for the broken.

*that radiates life and joy with a spirit of unity, honour and generosity.

*where miracles are the norm, people are blessed and great Kingdom exploits are accomplished!

*that impacts our community and influences the world in which we live with the GOOD NEWS of Jesus Christ.

Now that’s the church we see!

We have a broad range of services, ministries, small groups, departments and programs, which all exist to reach and influence our region and our world.

What We Believe

We believe that the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives.

We believe in one eternal God who is the Creator of all things. He exists in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy.

We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for our lives.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ as both God and man is the only One who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory and empower us for life.

We believe that in order to receive forgiveness and the ‘new birth’ we must repent of our sins, believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, and submit to His will for our lives.

We believe that in order to live the holy and fruitful lives that God intends for us, we need to be baptised in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues.

We believe in the power and significance of the Church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for fellowship, prayer and the ‘breaking of bread’.

We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can successfully achieve His purpose for our lives which is to worship God, fulfil our role in the Church and serve the community in which we live.

We believe that God wants to heal and transform us so that we can live healthy and blessed lives in order to help others more effectively.

We believe that our eternal destination of either Heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

Our History

The history of Kingborough Life Church started on the 1st August 1993 as a church plant from Kingston Reformed Church at the Blackman’s Bay Scout Hall. The church was called Blackman’s Bay Christian Community Church. In October 1997, the church left the Reformed Churches of Australia to be independent, as the church was coming into renewal.

In Jan 1998, Dennis & Inga-lil Jigblad became Pastors for a brief time, and then in 1999, the church came under the umbrella of Hobart Christian Life Centre, with senior pastor Kevin Towns, birthing “one church family in two locations” at Bellerive and Kingborough which was part of the Australian Christian Churches (formerly Assemblies of God).

On 1st September 1999, the Church outgrew the Scout Hall and moved into a new building in Browns Road (Pizza Hut building). Coinciding with the move, Mark & Di Greeney became Pastors of KCLC on 3rd October 1999, now in the Salvation Army Hall in Blackman’s Bay. In June 2000, the Church out grew the Browns Road property and moved into the Sea Scouts Hall in Kingston.

By 2001, a third campus was formed, and “Energizer Life Church” was now located in Bellerive, Lauderdale and Kingborough, and then in 2002, late in the year, negotiations to purchase a disused carpet warehouse in Mertonvale Circuit commenced, and in mid January 2003, the Blackman’s Bay block of land was sold and the purchase of the Kingston property was completed. By February, the building was renovated to include a church auditorium and two level Youth and Kids ministry facilities, and on 23 November, the opening of the new facility was celebrated.

By 2006, KLC continued as an independent ACC church, and in September 2008, senior Pastors Mark and Di Greeney were farewelled. In August 2011, a Dedication Service was held to mark the completion of the newly renovated building, and then in October 2011, LifeCare began with a group of like-minded people who opened the downstairs area of the church on Monday nights to provide food to ‘hungry’ people.

On 16th March 2014, Paul and Lynne Morrill became Senior Pastors of KLC, coinciding with an exciting new season in the life and ministry of Kingborough Life Church.
